![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :: Highball vs. Gamewyze LIVE on GameSurge Radio I've been posting all over the freaking place so this one's going to be a quicky. Basically, if you are a DoD fan and are interested in catching so sick CAL-I action, definitely tune in to my shoutcast coverage of tonight's Highball/Gamewyze match. It's a round 2 semi-final match of the CAL-I playoffs so it should be pretty exciting. Please tune in. I think we're going to be in competition with TSN and we'd really like to make a good showing. So tune in! w00t! More info below: Highball vs. Gamewyze -- LIVE on GameSurge Radio Posted by DJ GMoney :: Nerd Club... still puttering along Hiya nerdlings! Well, {NC} was going really well in the beginning summer with many exciting plans, and then, suddenly, it crapped out. Yeah... sorry about that. Basically, there was a great deal of club/clan struggle that ultimately seems to have torn us apart. Where we last left off, {NC} was starting up a DoD clan, and that was going rather well. We recruited a few new members, and even had us a scrim. But that's when crap went sour. See, believe it or not, what seems like a sad excuse for a club wouldn't exist without the occasional hard work of the people in it. Unfortunately, however, that work seemed to eventually fall on the shoulders of too few people. Clubs like this one can't survive unless people contribute. And, well, nothing really was being contributed. So, this lack of involvement, began buidling up and causing tension in the channel. Finally some words came out that really, well, pissed some folks off. Even a small group such as ours if threatened from the inside can cause emotion to spring out of those who created and are most concerned for its well-being. Anyway, a minor dispute over the roll of the dod clan grew into a discussion of who wasn't doing what, and that's when the perverbial house became devided and was unable to continue standing. So, some people left the {NC} dod scrim clan to start a rival clan that would not scrim. Others retained their allegiance to {NC}, but devoted their clan allegieance and time elsewhere. Then in an ironic twist, the rival clan was ended, and its members rejoined {NC} for a few hours. Realizing that the clan had lost too many members to be reborn, a few members quickly joined a different scrim clan devoted to scrimming. Did i mention {NC} had no intention to join leagues? Anyway, so this scrim clan hung around for a few weeks, but then merged with members of another dod clan to create a server and admin it. Phew... it's like a damn soap opera. Anyway, all sore feelings were more or less put to rest as the locals held a LAN party this past Saturday at {NC}God, err [M12]Preacher, err -- ahh screw it, the {NC} member formerly know as {NC}God's place. A grand time was had by all, but the nerd travels press was unfortunately unable to capture the event. Well, now that you're up to date, I have some new, more pleasent, news to report. I am now a DJ on GameSurge Radio. That's right. Evidently, I had the stuff they were looking for, so they hired me. All my broadcasts have been going so well in fact, that I have been cleared to broadcast a Cal-i DoD match this Wednesday. If you're interested in hearing me, check out my DJ webpage for updates. Definately tune in to tonight's broadcast as well. I'm hoping to break the station record for match listeners. That's all for now. Posted by GMoney
:: Updates... updates... What's up, my little nerd friends. Nerd Club is still rocking out hard as ever. I have to go to class here soon, so this update will be a short one. First up, welcome Largo and Jay, the newest members of our {NC}Family. They're the first new players to be added to the roster of our up and coming DoD squad. If you're interested in joining or just want a sample of the l33tness that we will soon command, come play with us on The Lost Outpost server. Also, check the channel frequently for scrim information. All our scrims will be broadcast in the channel so get excited for that. Our vent server and dod server are back up and running in good condition. You'll need to check the channel for the ips. I'm still trying to fix the changing ip problem. NerdServ is back up as well as the file database. The download speed will improve soon, I promise. Lastly, we've put up the most recent update to Nerd Travels. It's coverage of our most recent nerdy adventure to stroudsburg, PA for a halo tourny. The tourny itself didn't go so well due an excess of rusty skills, but nonetheless it produced some class pics and videos also... that's right VIDEOS!!! Weeee! Sorry about the delay, I think everything broke at some point this week, but definately check everything out. So long, nerds. Posted by GMoney :: We are so 133t right now... That's right folks. Nerd Club is rocking out so hard. All the local homies are back from school, and everything is 133t as all hell. First off, the channel is really chill right now. If you are not already idling us at #nerdclub on gamesurge.net, get on that now. Also definitely check out the forums. If you're just visiting or want to scrim us or want to join or whatever, just post it. We'll definitely get back to you. Also, back by popular demand, there are a bunch of new updates in the Nerd Travels section. There's a bunch of pictures of the original {NC} creators doing nerdy stuf. Check that crap out. The file dbase is up and wonderful. My upload speed sucks right now, but it will get better soon. Definitely download the file list. There are... like... i dunno... 70 something files on there now including a full RvB and FTC archive. Alright, all that is chill as hell, but the big announcement is our new server. It's been mentioned already, but the cool part is, it'll be up and running in under a week. That's right. It'll be hosting either a CS or DoD server (we haven't decided yet) as well as a new and improved NerdServ, file database, and ventrilo server. We'll release the IP as soon as its up. We'll be granting admin to members and our favorite idlers. If you want admin also, _______ a couple bucks and we'll definitely hook you up. That's all the nerd jibba jabba I have for now. Look forward to the much anticipated release of NS2, and a crap load of gaming. This nerd needs some sleep. Later, killaz. Posted by GMoney :: I'ma gonna smack you upside wit my new board biatch! Yes I am still alive you wankers, you can't put me down that easily! As GMoney said, we got a killer summer coming up with hardcore nerdification planned. Part of this widespread panic has reached out and touched a forum, specifically our new forum, which can be found here. Yeah so, do what i say and not what i do... and another thing... insert another cliche here! I'm stoked to be getting outta freakin' high-school and kickin' it this summer with my NC buds, and you should be too - whoever you are... Peace out, idle the fuckin' channel, and feel the force mutha-fucka or mace windu is gonna strike back. Leave a message on the boards an we'll get back to you asap! Posted by Clobbersaurus :: The Beginning of NC's Triumphant Return
Yo nerds! Wussup? Long time, no chat. So, I finally finished my first year of my college experience, and I'm stoked as hell for the summer. Within the last month, clobber and I have been talking about what the summer holds for ol' NC, and I have to say, I'm pretty stoked for what lies ahead. The channel is back up and thriving. We welcome good ol' {NC}Ozzy and {NC}Grant back as well as a couple new idlers. Props to clobber for getting the channel re-founded on gamesurge. In case you're wondering, it is still #NerdClub. Alright, now to the cool stuff. We have a ventrillo server. Props to clobber again for getting that together. If you don't have Ventrillo yet, I suggest getting it here. The CS squad should definately get on that, as it will be quite usefull for scrims this summer. Feel free to idle that as well as the channel. Also, {NC}NerdServ, our awesome little chat bot in IRC is now officially not a piece of sh*t. I realize that many of us in this little group have berated poor NerdServ about his "lag" problem, and how he really is just my annoying puppet. Well, he is a puppet NO MORE! Over the past couple days, I have reaquainted myself and learned a lot more about the mIRC scrpting language and commands, and I've managed to update the bot to new heights. It is now officially able to take remote user input an use it. Soon, ops will be able to update the information in it without bugging me to change the code all the time *cough* Clobber *cough*. Check the @ops for more info on that. Also, our long awaited file database is slowly coming into being. Any of you who have ever crossed paths with XDCC or IRC file databases of the like will be used to what we now have set up. Now, through NerdServ, you will be able to request DCC downloads through the IRC channel. Please check out our Files page for more info on the specifics. We're hoping to have a full RvB and FTC video archive available in a couple weeks. If you don't know what FTC is, check it out. It's pretty dope... ask clobber. I personally think it rivals RvB for hilarity, but then again I thought "Good Burger" was really amusing. Sorry, about this long ass post, but a lot of crap has been happening, and I thought I'd fill you in on our summer plans. And by you, I mean the 2 dedicated nerds that check this site. Holla. Anyway, we're definately going to have a CS server this summer. I'm planning on purchasing a new computer within the next couple of weeks, hopefully. This willup my current craptop to counter-strike corruption. For those who don't know, I joined a fraternity at Penn. I'm sorry. I know this lowers my nerd status, but I got sucked in. Anyway, I'll be working and taking classes on campus this summer, so my plan is to leave the craptop in my fraternity house at college. My goal is to set up the Vent server, NerdServ, and the CS server on it, and let them run using the remote scripts I am now developing. I know the craptop sucks. Yes, it's the same one that had a crappy ping and lagged at our LAN parties, but I'm definately going to clean it up. Also, anything seems fast when it's running on T3. I'll be configuring amx, statsme, and all the usual bells and wistles on the CS server. If anybody has any expertise on that sort of stuff, let me know. I'm a bit of a noob. The addition of the new computer to my electronic family will alsothe door for our film wing of the club. A good graphics card will definately propell our video editing and dvd burning capabilities to new heights. Clobber and I are currently planning the specifics of a Halo epic for this summer.. Trust me, it'll be something of the likes you've never seen. No hints.... yet. Local nerds should count on being involved in the filming. We also might host a couple LAN parties at a multi-million dollar mansion on Locust street in Phila. It'll be a sweet venue for Halo. I kid you not. Also, I'm hoping to give the website a makeover... something along the lines of lots of flash and a forum. Lastly, NC's hoping to start a little bowling league action for the local nerds. It'll be awesome. Make sure to check the travels page for updates on that. Maybe you'll get to see a picture of the infamous {NC}Beast. Ooooooooo. Believe it or not, I think I'm done posting for now. My sincerest appologies for the length of this thing. For those of you, who read to here: let me know, and I'll addmaster you or something. Definately keep checking the site. Updates will be coming in fast. Posted by GMoney :: GMoney Places 2nd in UPenn Halo Tourney Howdy fellas, hope y'all are keepin' it binary wherever you are. I don't like don't to brag too much, but I just thought I'd let all my nerd homies what's been going down here at the U of Penn. A management class here at my lovely little university decided to put on a Halo tournament to raise some charity money. Anyway, I found out about it only a few days before the entry deadline, and entered myself in as an individual. My roomate was hoping to put together a team, but I knew nobody could replace the uber epicocity of our little clan. Anyway, I was placed on a team with three random guys who I had never met before, and needless to say I thought we sucked. In our little warmup battle, I could barely get a hit on anybody, and my teamates didn't even look like they knew how to play. Anyhow, we just barely squeeked by in the first round of this thing playing no radar team slayer on hang em high. I was still pretty pessimistic, but nonetheless happy because I tied for the highest score in our 4v4 group. The next round was blood gulch and it was the single most impressive round of team slayer I have ever seen played, and thank god I was on the right side of the competition. The score was 50-17. It was unbelievable. I got a frickin' killtacular! It was amazing! Anyway, that round gave us a great boost of confidence and propelled us throught the next derelect round and on to the finals. We lost in a best of 3 battle on derelect, but needless to say, I was really psyched with our $40 prize. The team we lost to had some funky camp strategy, but it's pretty cool that our team of random halo junkies put together last minute could pull of 3 win run and just barely lose in the finals. None of these teams would've even touched our clan, guys. Next 4v4 tourney here that I hear about, maybe I'll draft some of you guys, and show all these newbies how the big boys play... Maybe not... As always keep nerding, and yes Neo will rise again. Posted by GMoney
