![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :: GMoney Places 2nd in UPenn Halo Tourney
Howdy fellas, hope y'all are keepin' it binary wherever you are. I don't like don't to brag too much, but I just thought I'd let all my nerd homies what's been going down here at the U of Penn. A management class here at my lovely little university decided to put on a Halo tournament to raise some charity money. Anyway, I found out about it only a few days before the entry deadline, and entered myself in as an individual. My roomate was hoping to put together a team, but I knew nobody could replace the uber epicocity of our little clan. Anyway, I was placed on a team with three random guys who I had never met before, and needless to say I thought we sucked. In our little warmup battle, I could barely get a hit on anybody, and my teamates didn't even look like they knew how to play. Anyhow, we just barely squeeked by in the first round of this thing playing no radar team slayer on hang em high. I was still pretty pessimistic, but nonetheless happy because I tied for the highest score in our 4v4 group. The next round was blood gulch and it was the single most impressive round of team slayer I have ever seen played, and thank god I was on the right side of the competition. The score was 50-17. It was unbelievable. I got a frickin' killtacular! It was amazing! Anyway, that round gave us a great boost of confidence and propelled us throught the next derelect round and on to the finals. We lost in a best of 3 battle on derelect, but needless to say, I was really psyched with our $40 prize. The team we lost to had some funky camp strategy, but it's pretty cool that our team of random halo junkies put together last minute could pull of 3 win run and just barely lose in the finals. None of these teams would've even touched our clan, guys. Next 4v4 tourney here that I hear about, maybe I'll draft some of you guys, and show all these newbies how the big boys play... Maybe not... As always keep nerding, and yes Neo will rise again. Posted by GMoney :: Nerd Club Counter-Strike Server... no really! Greetings again to my loyal nerd club members who hopefully still check this site every eon or so. If you haven't thought that some of the older news entries weren't worth your attention, I think this one really is. Thanks to the inspiration and help from some of my UPenn nerdlings, I have successfully launched a CS 1.5 server. Most of what's up right now is temporary so I have decided not to post the IP here, but check the bot in the channel or serch UPenn Nerd Club on gametiger. It's a bit laggy and it definately needs some adminmod and statsme upgrades, but all in all it's a start. So, if any of our loyal CS pals are still alive, our new UPenn members and this server will be a big boost for us, especially with scrims. Hopefully all of you will come back and join up in our little nurd wurld. Until the next matrix.... your loving leader GMoney. Posted by GMoney :: Umm... Anybody home? I'm still a nerd honest... What is frickin' up nerd club? Alright, I know the club has been dead for like a month now and y'all haven't spoken to me (GMoney) in more days than pounds Beast can bench. I've been secumming to temptations like girls, parties, and a social life in college. But never fear! Nerd Club will rise again to uber jedi status. Last night, I discovered that a bunch of the guys I already know here are not only craaaazy CS haxors, but some even use IRC. Nerd Alarm!!! Bring 'er up to broadcast level 'cause I'm goin' in. Okay, so anyway I stopped practicing keg stands in my room, and I hooked some nerd shit up LAN style. Just a bit of CS, nothing Patty's Pad style, but it was pretty chill. I took some pics and stuff that I'll post on the Nerd Travels page when I launch it. One of the guys, Jay, is a former CAL-IM or some shit, and the other guy Scott is pretty sick too. What's more is that Jay thinks we should start some Nerd Club here on campus. That would be pretty chill right? Well check this out: clubs on a campus of 9,000 undergrads can really pick up, and sometimes the school will front some cash and supplies. Jay and I also were able to not only launch a server last night, but we're able to broadcast stats on the channel and do all sorts of other cool shit. So, if you actually check this, get back to your nerding, it might get really cool soon. That's all I've got for now, but stay tunned for more pocket protecting, glasses wearing, star trek watching, social life lacking fun! Weeeeee! Posted by GMoney :: Updates, Forums, Servers, All sorts o' Nerdity Well, Nerd Club is still alive. Lots of crap is happening so I thought I'd update all our jolly members on our progress. The website is growing bit by bit with updates slowly seeping in. The roster is now completely updated featuring bios of some of our members. If you'd like to add your own bio, email Clobber. Clobber also claims he is making a custom nerd forum for the server that will hopefully kick ass. In the mean time, if you want to add an update, email clobber or gmoney. Our ol' buddy pinball keeps hookin' us up with awesome stuff. He's hoping to get us a ventrillo server soon courtesy of #rxgservers. If you are not idling there yet, I suggest you start. Speaking of servers, the next addition to Nerd Club is definately going to be a CS server. We haven't hammered out all the details yet, but we do know that servers cost a lot of money. We don't have any sponsors, and only one of us is filthy rich -- cough chibs cough cough. So, we're thinking about taking in donations once the server gets off the ground. It'll be something like $5 a month for admin. We'll be sure to let you all know when that happens. Or, if aren't into the whole CS thing, $5 will get you ad-space on the site. Any questions should be directed to gmoney.You can donate to us using the handy dandy pay pal button on the left if you feel generous and wealthy -- cough chibs cough. Did I mention how much nerd club adores chibby. In other news, look forward to the release of the Nerd Club crap-ass DVD A Nerd Story complete with an online trailer. We might even make Nerd Club t-shirts... yeah... maybe not. Finally, best of luck to our college-bound nerds, please come back once you discover women and cooler nerds. That's all for now. The nerd nerd nerd... the nerd is the werd. Laaaaate. Posted by GMoney :: Props to Pinball :: Nerd Club DOD? What? Hail to the dao of pocket-protector! What up nerdz! It's GMoney in the hissouse with some updates to our fabulous little club here on the internet. I'd like to announce the giving of major props to our homie Pinball, who idles in our channel. He hooked us up with the kick ass Halo graphix on the top of the page. So if you see ol' PB around, give him a shoutout and spread the word about his talents. Also, God is back in town and he wants Nerd Club to start a DOD team. If you're interested, talk to him. Also, if God donates some pictures from his trip to Orlando, we might start a new segment on the website called Nerd Travels with many pictures of naked chicks... or not... Yeah so this has been another retarted news entry by GMoney. Laaaaaaate. Posted by GMoney :: "I'd like a CS team please... nerds... no mayo" Before the late hours of last night and early this morning, I was pretty sure our CS team had come to an end. Nobody was showing up for scrims, we sucked, chibs wouldn't play, we sucked, we were losing all our scrims, we sucked, and also we sucked. This was all true before our last 2 scrims. Rem and I were bored in the channel, so I made a last-ditch effort to put together a team. Rem and I decided to find an empty pub serving aim_map and bring in some recruits. After several crappy German servers, and a couple Cal moocher pansies, we finally got a decent try-out going. We picked up some new members that seemed to have potential, and they did. After welcoming two new members, Rem and I decided to put together a scrim. The 4 of us tagged up and prepared for battle: {NC}GMoney and{NC}Remington, and the new recruits, {NC}Sandalo and {NC}Loof (later known as {NC}Pirate). We were still short one so Rem decided to bring on a ringer. This kid, soon to be know as {NC}Valor, showed up and joined the squad. We joined a scrim with clan [c02] and just ripped through them. Final score was 18-6. The real story of the scrim was Valor. That kid is freakin' insane. He no-scoped an awp kill for the win. That's freakin' sick. Anyway, Valor lead the team in score followed by Rem, and the rest of us hung back but still managed to pull off some kills. Our next scrim wasn't as fantastic. We switched out Rem for Clobber, and took on a former cal-im team [FWB]. We got beaten, but we didn't do half-bad considering our line up. In the end our new recruits look promising, and Valor although a member of another clan might come back for a couple scrims soon. I strongly believe that when {NC}God returns, and we get {NC}Beast into the game, we'll be scrimming consistently. Maybe even chibs'll play. Stay tuned for more CS adventures. Posted by GMoney :: XBox Connect Launches Halo Tournament Well, I'll be buggered! Err sorry... XBconnect has has launched a Halo tournament of the century! The tournament will consist of singles and doubles comptetition of over 200 Halo ringers from around the country. I'm hoping to put together a Nerd-Squad to enter the tourny. To get more info check out http://www.xbconnect.com/bin/tourney.exe, but remember, you have to be 18 or older to enter. Posted by GMoney :: "Oh Shit, I TK'd for the Loss?!?!? Sorry..." Tonight we scrimmed 4v4 against teamAU... and yeah we lost by 2 rounds in OT, but we kicked some major ass as Ts... then as CTs... well thats when the sucking happened. {NC}GMoney robbed many CTs of their prescious lives after a slight struggle, {NC}remington as usual took the team leader position early on followed by {NC}clobbersaurus and his trusty mp5navy of precision pain, and {NC}G-rant bolstering the attacks with surpression fire. But in the end we lost our momentum as we had to change servers. To unintentionally end the game, {NC}clobbersaurus took too much control of his mp5 and mistakenly jump-shot {NC}G-rant in a majestic soaring tradegy. From there on he was screwed being the last alive. All in all we surprised ourselves with our relatively good skill as a team. Props to {NC}remington for clutch tactics. Posted by clobbersaurus :: We're not half bad at Half-Life CS. Yep we done did some scrimmin with our rag tag team of CS'rs an did done pretty darn well. Thanks to j5-stoic and j5-chibsquad for helpin us: {NC}GMoney , {NC}clobbersaurus , {NC}remington , and {NC}G-rant . It took us a little while to get movin right but with the j5'rs vetran tactics we held our own. Want to scrim us? go to our IRC GamesNet random East channel at #nerdclub and ask us. Keep in mind we are first and foremost a Halo clan, so go easy on us : ) In other news thanks again to j5-chibsquad for the shout out on #xtremeradio!!! Posted by clobbersaurus :: Look ma I got that there website thing workin! That's right folks, I finally got the crap ass version of this page up so GMoney would get off my case and stop makin big splashes in my Zen pool. Yes, we are the greatest Halo clan known to mankind... possibly just the only one in existance... Anywhooo.. you can look forward to seeing our very own Halo movies ready for you to download as well as a roster, interesting links, randomly updated news, pretty pictures, contact information, and all sorts of other excelsior stuff!
